Pfizer Pakistan Celebrates World Cancer Day 2014

Committed to engage healthcare professionals and raise awareness on the disease

Pfizer Pakistan Limited, 4 February, 2014 - Pfizer Pakistan is proud to add its support to help spread the word around World Cancer Day 2014 under which individuals, public and private sector organizations and governments can raise awareness and unite in the fight against the global cancer epidemic. World Cancer Day is also an opportunity to improve general knowledge about the global cancer burden and how with the right strategies and interventions some of the most common cancers can be prevented or treated.

The theme of this year’s World Cancer Day's is ’Debunk the myths’ to focus effort on meeting Target 5 of the World Cancer Declaration which is to reduce stigma associated with cancer and dispel damaging myths and misconceptions about the disease.

“Pfizer is very proud to support World Cancer Day, which serves as a reminder that we can all take action to dispel the myths about cancer and work together to reduce the burden of cancer globally,” said Dr. Farid Khan – Country Manager. “In Pakistan we are supporting the World Cancer Day by conducting Medical Education activities with our key stakeholders across Pakistan, as well as continuing with our access program for Cancer therapies.
